Wilson
Wilson is a 2 year old male who LOVES his people! He loves to spend his time close to you whether you are busy and he’s just laying close to you or he has your full attention and all the praise and pets he can get. But as much as he loves to be close, he is just as capable of being on his own. When you need a little space, he is perfectly happy to hang out in his crate.
Wilson has been fostered with 2 female Danes and does very well with both the dominant and submissive personalities. He loves to play and would be well suited in a home where he had a large female dog to romp with.
In December 2008 Wilson sustained a leg injury and needed surgery and a lengthy recovery time. His leg is completely healed now and does not slow him down! He runs and hops with the best of them! There are only 2 times you may notice his previous leg issues. One is when he’s laying down and someone (human or dog) steps close to that leg. He will sound a warning growl but then just gets up and moves. Nothing else ever comes of it. The second time is when he goes to the vet. Because of his lengthy recovery time at the vet, it is not his favorite place to begin with. Then when a vet begins an examination and gets close to his leg he gets very nervous. For this reason we suggest using a muzzle while at the vet just to be safe. Because of these small issues we also suggest that Wilson not go to a home with small children.
Wilson does best with a strong, dominant owner. Wilson loves the one-on-one treatment he gets while working on basic commands. He will consistently sit, but his other commands are still a work in progress. It would be great to find a home that will continue working with him on these.
Wilson will make an amazing companion for the right family!
